Centre for Financial Literacy MoneyWise

The “Centre for Financial Literacy” (CFL) Project being implemented by AROH Foundation in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and funded under Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) by NABARD and sponsored banks, is an initiative aimed at promoting financial awareness and education among individuals and communities across India. This project seeks to empower people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions, manage their finances effectively, and achieve greater economic stability. This Financial Literacy Project offers a range of educational programs, workshops, and resources to enhance people's understanding of concepts like savings, investments, budgeting, banking services and a range of govt. welfare schemes i.e. insurance, subsidies, pension schemes etc. Through these initiatives, the project aims to promote economic inclusivity, reduce financial vulnerabilities and ultimately contribute to the economic growth and well-being of the nation.

By fostering financial literacy, this collaborative effort between AROH Foundation and RBI is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and communities, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to achieve financial independence and security.

Flagship Programs

This project seeks to empower people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions, manage their finances effectively, and achieve greater economic stability.

Project Highlights

  • The project covers a total of 21 districts of Uttar Pradesh, sponsored by the lead banks in respective districts i.e. SBI, UBI, PNB and Indian Bank.
  • It encompasses 117 blocks, establishing 39 Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL) centers, and conducting 10980 Household Training Camps and 209 Mass Awareness Camps.
  • As of October 23, the project has successfully trained 356,982 participants, with a balanced representation of 155,826 male and 21,156 female participants.
  • The initiative has achieved substantial bank linkage, with 27,120 individuals opened accounts, and the distribution of 16,386 insurance and pension products, including the settlement of three death insurance claims.
  • Participants have been offered extensive support, with 356,982 individuals receiving assistance for grievance redressed, online banking transactions, mobile wallets, and digital payments.
  • Furthermore, the project has sensitized all 356,982 participants to advanced financial products such as Mutual Funds, contributing to their financial literacy and inclusion.
